Practicum Student, Masters of Psychotherapy & Spirituality
Healing and growth have been life time passions and pursuits for me both personally and professionally. I am so grateful to have had numerous teachers, coaches and counsellors over the years to help me mine my best self and heal the wounds life brings. I believe seeking the support of professional helpers can have a life-changing impact on one’s journey, help facilitate desired change, and promote healing beyond what is possible when walking alone.
Professionally I have been accompanying seekers of wholeness in retreat and workshop settings. As a senior yoga instructor with the Yoga Association of Alberta I have had the pure joy of guiding students towards greater holistic health of body and mind! Working on my master’s degree at this time of life gives me a long awaited opportunity to further my study of psychology and the human condition!
My life’s experiences have brought both wonders to enjoy and challenges to explore. Raising children to adulthood, navigating changing family dynamics and stages, health crises, and losses have offered material for my growth as a human being.
I believe that as human beings we have an inbuilt propensity towards growth, healing, and self-realization. What is sometimes needed is to remove obstacles blocking our path. Counselling can do that! I look forward to humbly offering my best to you, so you can achieve the goals you have for your own precious life.
My approach in counselling is to partner with my client to determine their goals and
the strategies that best suit their personality and needs. My approach borrows primarily from client centered, narrative, and solution-focused therapy.
"Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and twice as beautiful as you’d ever imagined. Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself." – Rumi
