canadian certified counsellor

Life can be hard and asking for help takes incredible bravery and vulnerability. Many times in my life when I faced challenges, I found healing through caring relationships, including those with gifted counsellors and therapists. Feeling heard and understood within a relationship can be a powerful catalyst for change and growth. Whatever challenges we face, whether it be trauma, sadness, conflict, worry, or loss, we can benefit from leaning on each other.

When you sit down with me for therapy, I will strive to help you feel heard and understood in a non-judgemental, empathetic, and safe space. I use multiple therapeutic methods, including narrative therapy, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioural therapy with a strong emphasis on mindfulness and self-compassion. I believe strongly in working with each client to discover the best approach to achieve the changes they desire. When you feel safe and supported, we can begin to explore your past and current circumstances and work toward the life you are meant to live.

I believe you are a whole person and that you have within you everything you need to live a life of meaning and purpose. Together we will tap into your inner strength and reconnect you to your sense of self. We will navigate your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and spiritual world along the way.

About

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and offering online therapy. I first learned the power of relationship while working as a high school teacher and guiding teenagers through the challenges of their youth. I discovered the power of our mind-body connection through my work as a yoga instructor. In addition to my extensive work with adolescents, I also have experience helping men and women navigate through issues with their body image, addictions and traumas, and I have a passion for providing space where both men and women can be open and vulnerable.

I have a strong personal connection to the autism community and love supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and their families through the many trials and tribulations of this challenging disorder.
