Practicum Student, Master’s in counselling Psychology Program
Counselling is another tool in your toolbox to help you with the process of life. Life is a process – one in which we depend on each other to continue to move forward. Sometimes we find a support system in friends or family, and sometimes we are better served by a professional. My past experience is working with cognitive and behaviour problems in children and youth.
I look forward to working collaboratively with you and help you effectively use the skills, strengths, and resources that you have. I draw upon different techniques including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My past experience has been as an intensive child/youth care worker and for the past six years as a junior high teacher. After my practicum experience I will be completing thesis work in the area of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages."
– Shakespeare, As You Like It
