Beliefs & Values
I firmly believe we are a culmination of every life experience we have encountered. Unfortunately, not all encounters are favourable. No one is immune from experiencing adversity and as a result, in one form or another, we all relate to the world from a place of our own woundedness. When these wounds are triggered they can negatively affect our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, sometimes to the extent they are overwhelming to face alone.
Using a client-centred approach, my commitment is to provide a safe, respectful and
nonjudgmental environment from which you can begin to explore whatever life
wounds and present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours may be causing you undo
stress or anxiety. Drawing from several therapeutic techniques and modalities,
including mindfulness, self-compassion, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral
therapy, and hakomi, therapy may include exploring previously cut-off emotions,
self-limiting beliefs, and self-defeating behaviours.
I like to think of the counselling process as a therapeutic journey. Together we will
find a therapeutic approach that best suits your individual needs and provides you
with the strength and resources to help you heal, grow, and change in ways that are
congruent with your goals and desires.
