I believe that people are inherently resilient and possess a remarkable capacity to navigate life’s challenges, even during times when they may not feel strong or capable. Life can be complex, and there are moments when stress, grief, uncertainty, relationships, or difficult experiences leave us feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves. During these times, having a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore our experiences can make a meaningful difference.
At the heart of my work is a humanistic belief in the value and dignity of every person. I believe that each individual has a unique story, and that healing often begins when we feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. As a counsellor, I strive to approach each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect. I am interested in understanding who you are, what has shaped your experiences, and what matters most to you.
I also recognize that spirituality, meaning, values, and purpose can be important aspects of well-being for many people. Whether spirituality is a significant part of your life or not, I am open to exploring the beliefs, values, and sources of meaning that contribute to your understanding of yourself and the world around you.
My approach is person-centred, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as we explore challenges, identify strengths, and work toward meaningful goals. I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where you can speak openly, reflect honestly, and feel empowered to make choices that align with your values.
I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while maintaining a flexible approach that responds to each client’s unique needs. While my practice includes traditional talk therapy, I am also trained in art therapy and can incorporate creative approaches when they feel helpful and appropriate. Artistic expression can sometimes offer another avenue for reflection, self-discovery, and communication, though no artistic experience or skill is ever required.
I am currently completing my Master of Psychotherapy and Spirituality with a specialization in Art Therapy through St. Stephen’s College in affiliation with the University of Alberta. Prior to my graduate studies, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Alberta,
where I developed a strong interest in understanding human behaviour, relationships, and the factors that contribute to psychological well-being.
Throughout my education and professional experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals across diverse ages, backgrounds, and life circumstances. My experiences include supporting older adults in long-term care settings, working with survivors of sexual violence through the Sexual Assault Centre, providing support through Strathcona County Victim Services, facilitating art therapy programming within Edmonton Institution for Women, and contributing to community safety and wellness initiatives through Protective Services.
