Children
Children learn and express themselves through play. Whether a child is coping with trauma, big feelings, loss, or life transitions, I most frequently use play as a way for them to explore emotions, practice coping with challenges, and develop interpersonal skills that will set them up for healthy lifelong relationships. Parents play a huge role in supporting children’s progress in therapy: I will work together with you to set you up with a toolbox of skills to support your child at home. Adolescent / Teen
Trauma can mean very different things to different people. I am not here to tell you what may or may not have been traumatic for you, but I am here to support you through it. Many symptoms after experiencing trauma are a normal, healthy response that require time and gentle support to work through. Some post-traumatic experiences may require more specific approaches to help your brain and body integrate the experience in a healthy way. For symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), I am trained in a first-line recommended and highly researched treatment protocol called Prolonged Exposure. Parent Consultations
Have you ever received parenting advice from a friend, family member, or even a professional that just didn’t fit for you and your child? Me too. As a mom of three children, I’ve been humbled many times by the experience of “best practice” not panning out quite like I imagined. As a result, I’ve learned to combine research in developmental psychology and attachment with the realization that oftentimes, “real life” parenting is a messy business. As parents, we won’t always get it right. But we can learn how to better understand our children, what they’re trying to communicate to us with their behaviour, and how to respond in a way that protects your attachment bond. I’m here to collaborate with you on support that works for your family.Trauma/PTSD

Grief
There is no “right” way to grieve. Navigating loss can feel isolating, overwhelming, even disorienting. I support clients with grief from a deeply compassion-focussed and relational framework. I will meet you where you’re at, without any expectations to “move on”. You can feel safe to share any memories, hard realities, or confusing thoughts and feelings that may arise during your grief journey. As with everything, I believe that grief and healing are meant to unfold in connection– with yourself and with others.
