Life can pose many challenges and stresses in people’s lives, and every individual deals with it in their own way. Sometimes we can manage and cope very well. However, there are times where we can feel overwhelmed, and some challenges can be more difficult to manage and cope with on our own — that is why I am here to help! I view counselling as a way to provide the opportunity to explore and navigate one’s challenges and concerns, using a team effort, where you, as the client, and I work together to help address and overcome your obstacles. My goal is to first work together and build a foundational understanding between us, providing a safe place to share what is going on in your life. I am committed to creating an environment that is non-judgemental, attentive, and empathetic. Humour and compassion are key in the therapeutic process and I try to utilize both in equal measures.

Counselling for me is fundamentally about addressing the issues in the relationships we have, that impacts our beliefs, attitudes, and values. Whether those issues stem from relationships with family, friends, or ourselves. I will work with you on those issues to help make the difficulties you face easier to overcome and assist you in your healing journey.

Approach

My approach foundationally is about our collaborative relationship, using a holistic and tailored approach towards your goals, utilizing your strengths, helping you increase your confidence and actualizing your potential. With that being said, I approach primarily using theories of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Self-Compassion Mindfulness, Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma Informed.

Sasha’s approach integrates:

Attachment-Based Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Play Therapy
Somatic / Body-Centered Approaches
Art / Creative-Based Approach
Trauma-Informed
