My Beliefs...

I believe that life can be challenging and complex, but it can also be elegantly simple and beautiful. It is completely normal to encounter obstacles along the way. Sometimes, these challenges can feel overwhelming, but having a safe and empathetic person to guide and support you can make all the difference.

Our mental health and wellness can be influenced by a variety of factors — some of these include past experiences, our self-perceptions and our relationships with others. Reflecting on these connections can lead us on a journey to self-discovery and positive change.

My Approach...

I aim to support you in navigating life's challenges while empowering you to chart your own course. My approach is person-centered and solution-focused. By developing an understanding of your unique experiences, thoughts, feelings, and strengths, I help you create meaningful and achievable goals. Additionally, I utilize strategies from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to equip you with practical tools for managing your thoughts and emotions, overcoming setbacks, and fostering positive change.

My primary objective is to listen deeply, collaborate openly, and support you as you discover your personal path to healing. I want you to feel heard, valued, and empowered as we explore your experiences and define what well-being means for you. Together, we will work toward cultivating resilience, self-awareness, and lasting growth.

My Background...

I have been married to my husband for 22 years, and together we have three wonderful teenage children. We genuinely enjoy every moment of our busy and fulfilling life. With a background in education, I dedicated several years to teaching students from Grades 1-7 before transitioning into my current role as a school counsellor. Throughout this journey, I have observed the various challenges faced by individuals. These experiences have motivated me to pursue a Master's in Psychology so I can better support others as they face life’s inevitable challenges.

Life is seldom straightforward, and setbacks are a natural part of growth. However, with the right support and strategies, it is possible to turn challenges into opportunities for strength and self-discovery. I am dedicated to being part of this journey—helping you manage difficult emotions, promote positive mental health, and cultivate the resilience needed to navigate life’s ups and downs with confidence.
