This program will support families at any stage of their separation/divorce journey with reminders of strategies and skills that can help you overcome common concerns in divorced/divorcing and emerging blended families by understanding:

●      Positive Parenting practices for dealing with divorcing, helping your child with by identifying the to do and not to do’s

●      What to expect given their stage of development

●      Effective communication with your child by understanding their brain development and how to listen to understand, having empathy and being present the importance of attachment in communication

●      basics about children’s brain development

●      how to support and understand grief for both children and parents

●      how to discuss the why and what of divorce given your child’s stage of development

●      how to communicate appropriately to your child and communication strategies

●      how to show empathy to your child

●      why being present in the moment helps blended families

●      The role of the natural parent

●      The role of the step-parents

●      The dynamics of parenting step-children and supporting the relationship between step-children and step-parents given your child’s stage of development

This workshop will help you::

●      Enact positive parenting strategies

●      Improve communication and building & maintaining healthy relationships with your children and step-children

Program Cost: 25.00

This group is offered with only a minimal registration fee this spring as part of River’s Edge Counselling’s commitment to community service. The registration fee is meant to ensure the spots are secured and we can accommodate as many people as possible. If the fee is prohibitive for you to attend, please ask if it can be waived.

Note: Group therapy is often covered by insurance plans. Please speak with your insurance provider to inquire if your plan will cover the cost of the group.

Initial Payment

When you confirm your registration with our admin team, you will pay the $75 fee to secure your spot in the program. This fee is non-refundable.

Receipts

When the full program fee is charged to your credit card, we will send you a receipt by email.

**Group mental health programs are sometimes covered by insurance plans. Please speak with your insurance provider to inquire if your plan will cover the cost of this program. Important information to provide them will also be the designation of the group facilitator.
