Registered Provisional Psychologist

‘Lost’ is often an easy term to use when identifying where we are when it comes to navigating, developing, and maintaining our own mental health. We can feel even more lost as we attempt to understand and care for those around us who we see are suffering in their minds, in their bodies, and in their spirits. Being lost can often lead to greater and deeper frustrations, exhaustion, and questions. You and your loved ones need and deserve time to reflect on and gather your thoughts and feelings around the experiences and circumstances that facilitate struggle for you, your partner, or your children. You are asking for help, and you deserve it. Come, let me hear your story. You may not feel lost for long.

As a Provisional Psychologist I have successfully tended to the mental health needs of children, adolescents, teens, adults, and couples. I use primarily CBT, Gottman, narrative, and psychodynamic principles to explore and understand your needs and experiences that have facilitated and contribute to your current adversities. My life’s experiences have assisted in shaping the demeanor, knowledge, and curiosity to best assist a diverse range of people and their equally diverse challenges. From being a university athlete to serving Alberta’s industrial pursuits as a journeyman millwright, being faced with as well as overcoming complex interpersonal challenges have been a mainstay throughout my life.

You have things to say and want to be heard. You need the opportunity to feel without judgement. Turning our shared space and time into an environment abundant with trust and collaboration are the fundamental instruments of our successful chapter together and the factors to finally feeling heard and seen as you not only face your difficulties but overcome them.

Children
With the use of talk therapy, children aged ten and up can work to harness their therapeutic space to inspire an environment of openness and safety that will encourage them to share and express their emotions and thoughts in constructive ways.

I seek to answer the question often asked by parents "what is really bothering my child?" and then work with parent and child to alleviate the emotional distress and discomfort in their child's life.

Couples
In my experiences when utilizing Gottman principles with couples of all ages and walks of life, I have noticed that many of us are not far off from making the right decisions for ourselves and our families... read more

Over time, problematic patterns have formed and will seem irreparable and almost permanent, which pushes us further from making some of those moment-to-moment ‘right decisions’. Together, we can untangle the threads that prevent you and your partner from reaching your potential as a couple and as individuals.

Teens
Honing our understanding of the world through our own eyes and developing positive paths of communication can be difficult for us all. ...read more

... As teenagers, life and a clear path for your future can be all the more complicated to discern. In my previous role working with a high school as a mental health therapist, I have found developing the therapeutic relationship to be the key factor as we collaborate on how best to move forward in a positive direction and take on life’s challenges with the best tools for you.
