Registered Psychologist

We are shaped by our experiences, and the stories we carry about them. When we share our stories– through conversation, reflection, or creative expression– we can develop new understanding, uncover strengths, and open the door to meaningful change. I believe that storytelling is a powerful pathway to awareness, healing and growth, and it is central to the work I do with clients.

About

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and Psychologist’s Association of Alberta. I bring nearly twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults across a wide range of settings.

My practice is grounded in Narrative therapy, with an emphasis on helping clients understand their experiences in new and empowering ways. I integrate evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Exposure Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Play-based therapy techniques.

I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space where clients feel understood, respected, and supported as they work toward their goals.

Areas of practice

Children and Teens

I work with children primarily through play and hands-on activities, with a strong emphasis on caregiver involvement to strengthen parent-child relationships and support effective parenting strategies. With adolescents, I draw from a range of approaches, including sand tray, creative arts, and talk therapy.

Adults

I work with individual adults to support their healing and coping in the following areas:

families

I work with families to support communication, better understanding of one another, healthy family dynamics, and healing through transitions and change from a Family Systems approach. I strive for a balanced approach with families, ensuring each member has a voice. Therapy Approaches

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

I have specialized knowledge and experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) across the lifespan. I provide thorough, evidence-based assessment to ensure an accurate understanding of each individual’s symptom profile and the impact it has on daily life. Treatment in grounded is best-practice approaches, with primary emphasis on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I work collaboratively with clients and families to help them understand OCD, break down goals into manageable challenges, and help clients to build confidence and competence in reducing and managing their OCD symptoms, supporting lasting change and improved quality of life.

Teens
Adolescence can be a very difficult time to navigate. Everything seems to change so quickly and so immensely that it can be quite overwhelming. I work to build a strong therapeutic relationship with teens in order to help them cope with self-esteem and identity issues, everyday stressors and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and self-harm. I use a variety of modalities with teens, depending on age and interest, from sand tray and art therapy to more traditional talk therapy. I also work with caregivers on parenting and relationship building with their teens.

Children
I work with children as young as four years old, primarily through play and hands-on activities. With this age range, I work closely with caregivers to support development and behaviour. I also work with parents on topics such as building relationships and parenting. “Why follow a child’s lead? That’s our ultimate goal for entering their shared world- to help them be empathetic, creative, logical, reflective individuals” – Dr. Stanley Greenspan

Family
Family therapy can be incredibly helpful to support a family to work through relational challenges or to move a family through shared loss, change and transitions. With families, I work to understand each individual’s perspective and how each perspective contributes to the overall family system’s functioning. I strive to support each voice in the room to ensure everyone feels heard and understood as I guide families to create new understandings of each other.
