Counselling often begins not with clarity, but with a quiet sense that something needs tending. Some arrive feeling overwhelmed, carrying the sense that it’s all too much, while others begin with the thought, “I’m not even sure why I’m here.” That uncertainty - and that heaviness - is more common, and more human, than we realize.

So many of us long to feel steadier and clearer, yet find ourselves carrying stress, grief, or pain. I care deeply about creating a space where you can bring complicated, messy, or unfinished parts of your story and feel met with care. I hold space for what hurts & yet make room for the kind of humour that helps us keep going.

I work with teens (14+) and adults who are navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, stress and burnout, grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotion regulation difficulties, anger, distress, and trauma. I also support individuals seeking meaningful change or greater balance and boundaries in their lives.

My approach is person-centered which is relational, non-judgmental, and supportive. In addition, I have advanced training in attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches (including EFIT and EMDR), which guide my work in exploring emotional patterns, coping strategies, and past experiences that may still feel close or unresolved. I seek to keep the pace respectful and collaborative.

I consider the whole person - mind, heart, body, and spirit - and how they connect. In a fast-paced, highly comparative world, I often encourage self-compassion and connection with the present moment. I listen for how religion and spirituality can bring both solace and struggle, and I welcome clients who want to explore their beliefs, faith, or spirituality with care and curiosity. I also pay attention to the body and brain - how tension, stress, and even grief live in the body - and help notice the ways physical sensations can guide understanding and healing.

I appreciate working with people of all backgrounds, cultures, and orientations and consider it a privilege to walk alongside those I support. Whether you know exactly what brings you to counselling or are unsure where to begin, we can sit with whatever shows up - ordinary, painful, or surprising - and make better sense of it together.

Trauma
It is my belief that each of us has the inner strength and intuitive knowledge to enable change, but these resources can often be blocked by strong emotions or past events that overwhelm us...read more
Together we will explore the impacts of previous experiences and stressors, such as traumatic events or past relationships.

Teens
Some experts have dubbed today’s youth, “the most stressed generation”. It’s a time of identity formation while also aiming for good grades, searching for solid friends, contemplating relationships, working toward independence, and so on. ...read more
Today, however, there are a multitude of other dynamics contributing to elevated levels of stress – the popular inundation of social media with its constant comparison, the steep competition that comes considering post-secondary, and imagining a life after high-school. It’s a lot! It can manifest in anxiety, depression, lower self-esteem, and self-harming behaviours. I work to build strong relationships and help young people find ways to shoulder their stress and many worries.

Grief
Grief is a difficult and uniquely individual process. Society sometimes asks that we grieve quickly and tidily or encourages us to “move on” and get over the heaviness. ...read more
Yet rarely does grieving have a neat timeline or clear path. Nor is there one correct way to grieve. Together we will explore the impacts of loss, heartbreak, and loneliness while working to find moments of reprieve and restore some balance.
