Our Team

Miranda Dolphin

Hi, my name is Miranda (she/her) and I am currently finishing my Masters in Psychotherapy and Spirituality at St. Stephen’s College.

First of all, I want to commend you on seeking out therapy. I have been on the other side of the metaphorical therapy couch, and I know how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help.

I practice therapy because I believe people have the ability to change and grow, and I am here to guide and support you while providing a safe, supportive space. My approach is feminist, empathetic, and trauma-informed. I want to create a non-judgmental, collaborative relationship that fosters exploration, validation, and understanding. We can discuss anxiety, depression, ADHD, gender, sexual orientation, self-esteem, boundaries, body image, spirituality, and any other topics that may come up. I am here to help you explore past and present selves, discover patterns, feel your feelings, recognize and build strengths, and create coping skills. I hope you will leave our sessions feeling heard, accepted, and empowered. I welcome clients from all walks of life—any sexuality, gender expression, cultural background, body size—everyone is deserving of care.

I practice through an anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist lens. I will help you examine the societal structures that shape who you are, and how you treat yourselves and others. Understanding these systems is just one aspect of my integrated, holistic approach. I use aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic (body) therapy. I am a strong proponent of body positivity, neutrality, and non-diet approaches. I also incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, and humour—because sometimes you just need to laugh! Ultimately, I want to find ways to help you that fit you, because every person is different.

My background before returning to school is in seniors recreation therapy, so I have developed equal amounts of patience and play. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching movies, being in nature, dancing, building community, and making art.

It would be a privilege to meet and work with you!
